What is PYV Workshop Online - Anxiety?
No on is immune to feeling anxious. This online workshop is designed to help us think about and respond to our anxiety in ways which reflect the relationship we have with Jesus. It will include a talk, testimony, and discussion times so that we:
- Understand in our heads and hearts what God says about anxiety; and
- Are given some of the tools we need to respond to anxiety in practical ways.
We don't know what COVID-19 restrictions will look like in October, but we'd love for you to integrate this workshop into your church's regular Friday night youth group. You could meet at your regular time, and replace your usual study/talk with joining together to watch the workshop instead.
For leaders wishing to register on behalf of your youth group click here. If you're a teenager, why not ask your youth leaders if they've registered?
If your church doesn't have a youth group or isn't running on this night, we still want you to be involved! Take this opportunity to connect with youth across Victoria and click here to register as an individual youth.
Those who register will receive a viewing link in the days leading up to the workshop.
About the Speakers
Meet Cameron & Louise
Together Cameron and Louise have two kids, one dog, one cat and two chickens.
Cameron is the pastor at Croydon Presbyterian Church. He has worked as a youth pastor for many years in his hometown of Sydney and loves to support youth as they grow in Christ. For a bit of fun Cameron loves growing his own veggies, exploring the great outdoors, and photography.
Louise works with young people who live with chronic anxiety that impacts their ability to engage in mainstream classes. She loves getting alongside people and working out how they can do things differently to reduce their anxiety. For a bit of fun, Louise creates light-hearted social media posts to distract people from Melbourne's never-ending lockdowns. She also likes to hide behind doors and jump out unexpectedly in the hope of startling Cameron. She's getting quite good at that hobby.
